About the service
Daily backups are retained for 30 days, and are stored on encrypted cloud storage.
Yes, WP Guardian is UK based and is compliant with UKGDPR. We will act as a data processor, whilst you will remain the data controller. You may wish to include ourselves and our sub data processors in any data protection agreements or website privacy notices.
Remote backups are stored on encrypted cloud storage in data centres geographically located in Europe.
Yes we take extra steps to ensure increased security on sites we maintain including implementing cloud firewalls, free SSL certificates, brute force detection for WordPress admin and advanced web application firewalls on plan 3. When we access the site we also always do this securely over SSL and server via secure shell tunnel with key based authentication. Where possible we also implement multi-factor authentication.
We can work with bespoke sites and theme based sites, however if you’d like to continue to receive the relevant updates for the the theme you will need to maintain the license/subscription required as that will not be included in the maintenance fee.
Yes we can still maintain it as it is and ensure it is kept up to date, and backed up. However we can’t take responsibility for any pre-existing bugs or security issues in the code introduced by previous developer(s), such issues will be quoted for when identified.
Yes, we are often work on websites designed and built by other agencies, including expanding them with additional functionality and layouts.

Billing
No, domain name registration and renewal can be provided at an additional cost if required.
No, once you’ve decided to go ahead we’ll raise an invoice for payment to be made by BACS.
If we designed and built your site, then there is no setup fee. If we haven’t built your WordPress site we will quote an initial setup fee to cover onboarding and migration.
Maintenance is only effective if it is continued over a period of time, therefore the minimum term of our maintenance contracts is one year.
No, as maintenance services are best when continued over a period of time we do not offer a monthly package and our minimum term is one year.
Misc
Yes, we can add this to the setup fee and include in the initial onboarding process to ensure a smooth migration.
Yes, we will full access to WordPress admin, code, database and server (or hosting control panel if on shared hosting).
When we identify your site is compromised we immediately implement a disaster recovery plan to restore the site to its clean state. We then sandbox the compromised version and investigate the attack, including if any data has been lost or stolen. We will then work to quickly implement the relevant patches and hardening to prevent the attack reoccurring . Please note that if the site is compromised due to work performed by third party providers, we will need to quote for the restoration and investigation costs.
If your site goes down we will be automatically informed via automated SMS alerts and will immediately work to restore service. In the worst case scenario where service can not be quickly restored, we will implement a disaster recovery plan to provision a new service and deploy from the most recent backup.

Yes, we can maintain WooCommerce based sites at an additional cost. We will also conduct tests of the checkout journey after maintenance updates.
No, we often work with sites that integrate with third party APIs.
No, we often work with sites with lots of custom functionality and we can identify this in the onboarding process.
